CBS is betting on bringing Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous character back to life, this time in the present day as the BBC did with 'Sherlock'. In 'Elementary', Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller, 'Dexter', 'Dark Shadows', 'Emma', 'Trainspotting') is a disgraced Scotland Yard consultant who leaves London and settles in Brooklyn, USA, in order to rehabilitate himself from his addiction to illegal substances. There he will live with his teetotaler partner, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu, 'Charlie's Angels', 'Kill Bill 1'), a doctor with a difficult past who, through her work, seeks an opportunity to help others. The two will form a duo that will be responsible for solving crimes throughout New York City. Sherlock will also have the support of police captain Tobias 'Toby' Gregson (Aidan Quinn, 'Weeds', 'Prime Suspect'), an experienced investigator who will appreciate Holmes' ability to solve mysteries. In search of the criminals of the most important city in the world, Holmes and Watson will learn to work together, and soon discover that they need each other to overcome their problems and also the mistakes of their past.
