Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds, 'The Guest') and Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges, 'Valor of Law') are two special cops. Nick has just died, but incomprehensibly he is called to work with Roy, an agent who died hundreds of years ago. The two form the Rest In Peace Department and are tasked with hunting down the demons that inhabit the world of the living and sending them to hell.

Nick finds it hard to get used to the idea that he is dead and does not accept being away from his wife Julia (Stephanie Szostak, 'A Place to Dream'), to whom he sends repeated signals to perceive his presence. At least, thanks to his post-mortem employment, the young agent will be able to find out the identity of his killer.
